The Cafe Femenino coffee program is a one-of-a-kind ethical sourcing model committed to ending the cycle of poverty afflicting women coffee farmers across the world. This coffee grown by women in the ASOBAGRI co-op features a clean, sweet cup with notes of milk chocolate and red apple.
The Cafe Femenino story began in 2003, when it was born out of a grassroots movement to give women coffee farmers the credit they deserve and the voice they need to build a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Cafe Femenino Coffees are sourced exclusively from thousands of women-owned and women-operated farms across nine countries.
The Café Femenino Guatemala Program began in Guatemala in 2005 when the women coffee farmers first organized in order to receive fair compensation for their essential role in Guatemala’s coffee industry.
With their new leadership roles, income, and confidence, their problem-solving has included a wide array of community-driven programs and initiatives over the years including leadership advancement, education, income diversification and food security.
Café Femenino provides direct compensation to women farmers, who are empowered to use it any way they wish, along with the opportunity and resources to enact positive change in their communities and on their own terms. Together, the women have created a vision for their future and annual plans for the group, their families, and themselves.
